HISTORIC STETSON

A Public History Project

Founded in 1883 as 'DeLand Academy', Stetson has a rich history that expands over nearly 140 years into the past. This project aims to present this history through the scope of important locations around campus. The John B. Stetson Statue, Elizabeth Hall, Sampson Hall, Holler Fountain, and Hulley Tower contribute deeply to the character and history of Stetson University.

This digital exhibit is a project by Professor Candace Cunningham's Introduction to Public History class and is typical of the interactive learning promoted by Stetson University. Students utilized Stetson's digital and physical archives as resources to present the information in these digital exhibits.
